MFi stands for “Made for iPhone/iPad/iPod.” It is Apple’s licensing program that enables approved power manufacturers to procure connectors and components required to produce iPod, iPhone, iPad, and AirPlay audio accessories. Licensed manufacturers also maintain the liberty to place MFi-related logos on their product packaging, like the “Made for iPhone” badge.
Finally, MFi licensees have access to Developer Technical Support engineers and are equipped with the tools and resources necessary to get a product plan approved by Apple.
